They have a lot in common, and she does have a womanly side. Smothering the weak flame of Matt and Margaret’s attraction, Matt’s scheming ex-girlfriend, Sheryl, announces that she is pregnant with his child. I think I’ve read the entire series at least three times. This town exists only in my imagination, but its spirit and sense of community are definitely real. Debbie Macomber writes good, clean alwxys. Calla is a 17 year old spoiled brat who thinks her father is perfect and she picks fights with mom and refuses to accept her mom’s new boyfriend.

Each story is great. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. I get that it is for dramatic effect, but it was overdone.

The marriage between Margaret Clemens, the only daughter of a dakita rancher, and outsider Matt Eilers symbolizes the town’s metamorphosis. The worst part I felt was the end of the first book, Dakota Born, where Lindsey’s aunt makes a return in the epilogue, dakta there was no reference to it in the rest of alwxys series.

Like the Cedar Cove series, this book reads like five or six short stories interwoven with each other, which makes it somewhat choppy. Another well-written Debbie Macomber story! Margaret Clemens and Matt Eilers can both be losers.
But Margaret’s aware of Matt’s reputation and his flaws. Now, to go find the first two so I can really know more of their stories. This is not earth shattering fiction, just simple and fun. You read a bit about two or three characters, then stop, and read about two or three others, then stop, and so on.
